Learning at Tamarack

The Tamarack Institute is a Registered Canadian Charity dedicated to ending poverty in all its forms and skill-building for changemakers. Many of our workshops, webinars and online training courses are focused on place and community.

2025 Changemaker experience

The Changemaker Experience is intentionally designed as an intimate, small-group learning experience. The 2025 Changemaker Experience cohort will be limited to 100 participants. Participants will build connections and become a peer learning group to share successful practices and challenges in driving community and systems-level change.

2026 Changemaker Experiences Cohort

This cohort is an opportunity to enhance the skills necessary for building consensus & commitment to accelerate systems-level impact. The Changemaker Experience will bring together a small cohort of changemakers who will learn together, experience tools and resources, and develop new skills to bring back to their communities and collaboratives.

Fundamentals of Asset-Based Community Development

Join this workshop to gain a practical introduction to Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), a people-centred approach to planning that starts with what communities already have. ABCD focuses on identifying and connecting people’s gifts, skills, and strengths—assets that, when mobilized together, can address shared challenges and create meaningful change.

 

Community Change Summit (in-person)

After three years apart, we’re coming back together - in person, in purpose, and in possibility.  Fall 2026, join a movement of changemakers from across Canada and beyond for a summit that celebrates the courage of community, the power of place, and the promise of what’s next. Together, we’ll learn, connect, and accelerate solutions that transform lives and landscapes.
